Waterbird Count – 9 September

Beautiful weather at McGulpin today: clear, with almost no wind to speak of. Unfortunately for those of us watching waterbirds, however, there was practically nothing moving. Aside from a handful of geese and the usual cormorant and gull activity, the straits were very quiet. A few birds were hanging around the feeder at the beach, including a Savannah Sparrow and a Pileated Woodpecker. Raptors were moving a little as well, with a Sharp-shunned, Broad-wing, and a handful of vultures coming over during the afternoon.
