Waterbird Count – 2 October

Moderate south winds again today made for a slow count, but the weather was sunny and calm in the afternoon and some raptors were coming over. Mostly Turkey Vultures and Sharp-shinned Hawks, but a couple Ospreys and eagles came over as well.

A few Scaup and a flock of geese were the extent of waterbird activity, but songbirds were moving. Crows came over throughout the day, along with a flock of Blue Jays and several flocks of pipits.
