On Sept. 9, 2015 there was a good movement of waterbirds. Ed Pike made observations from 7:15 till 10:15 am. Common Loon 15 flying by and 2 observed on the water. There were a number of small groups of Red-necked Grebes flying around the area. One flock of 15 Red-necked Grebes were observed migrating, flying toward the southwest leaving the Straits area. One Am. Kestrel was seen flying south across the Straits to the lower Peninsula. There was also a movement of Bald Eagles moving south; there were 2 adults and 8 immatures seen flying from the U.P. to the lower.
