Waterbird Count – 5 October

Busiest morning for ducks yet today, with a strong northwest wind throughout the day. While many flocks were far out and are recorded as duck sp., the vast majority of closer flocks were Redheads. A good number of White-winged Scoters were moving today as well, along with the first few Gadwall of the season. Loons were moving in smaller numbers today than yesterday, and the only raptors moving were two Northern Harriers.
