The night (30 Sept) was off to a good start with three NSWO captured on the second net check of the night. Of the first three captured, one was yet another foreign recapture from Steven’s Point, Wisconsin banded on 10-26-14 as a hatch year bird. Captures remained steady until midnight when the action stopped and remained dead through dawn. Nine NSWO were captured; 8 were newly banded.
The total count since starting on 20 September is 43 Northern Saw-whet Owls.
