Fall owl banding has begun.

After getting rained out Monday night, the scheduled starting date for fall owl banding, we were able to officially open last night. On our first full night of banding we managed to capture and process 7 Norther Saw-whet Owls. They trickled in throughout the night which kept us somewhat occupied but not too busy, easy us into the season. The first bird was a very feisty male still in juvenal plumage. The rest were female or unknown sex of various ages. Hoping the rest of the season is productive but uneventful!
